What do the difficulties mean?

Easy boards are 8×8 and fall to counting and marking. Medium adds 9×9 boards and needs you to compare the ways a region's stars can fit. Hard and expert boards go up to 10×10 and need the expert techniques: regions trapped inside rows, and tiles that would leave a region with no room.
